Web Design Drives Me Nuts
Using This Book
You may or may not know anything about web design, and you might only have limited understanding of computers. Due to my crystal ball being in for routine maintenance after a few solid weeks worth of use, I have decided to take the opinion that you do not know a great deal of anything computer related really. This way I hope to be able to offer this book to most people, or at least those that can switch on a computer, know the Internet exists, and can use a web browser, text editor, and file manager. There will also be a need for image creation and manipulation at some point in your webland journey, this is something you will have to learn all by yourself, I cannot cover everything or this book would kill off rainforests and whole fields of electrons at the mere thought of having it electronified, published or printed.
Due to the above assumption we are going to use this book, the first in the serious of ‘web design drives me nuts’ a little differently. I have never written a book before so please accept my apologies for anything out the ordinary, but I am going to write this book in a very out of the ordinary kind of way, a way I feel will stop your nose bleeding at the sheer amount of data we need to cram in it at such a short time.
Some of the areas of web design can be a little tricky, and may take some time to get your head around. If you don’t understand it by the time this book is finished, just brush it under the carpet whilst whistling and pretend it never happened, remember to put your hands in your pockets as you do or people will think you are bluffing.
Nobody likes to read, and read, and read, and… you get the point. What we will do is get you coding right from the start, by doing this you will learn the basics, enough to create the crudest of all web sites, but nonetheless a website filled with the most typical things. If you really believe you know all the basics, although I would recommend reading this first book, you can skip to the second book in the series which is more, well, book like.
